Gilbert & George, "Happy" 1980

Discombobulated...
Kinda missing my old journal, damnit... those fucking banner ads... arggh, I can't go there! Fuck you, BofA!!! Um, I mean, I'm not very happy with you currently, BofA!

It's disconcerting to me that many of my old AOL-J pals don't seem to want to wade into the waters of Blogspot. I guess I've got to try and cultivate some new Blogspot friendships. I feel like I've just arrived in Junior High and my face is full of zits and I'm not Mr. Popular anymore. I am missing some of my old AOL-J pals, frankly!

I've got to make more of an effort to visit all you other AOL-J refugees who have landed here... bleh, things are just-- different. It's an adjustment in my new home and an adjustment here. It's just confusing-- where are people-- the UK? a new Blogspot site? Old AOL-J?-- which loads like crap now on my dial-up, thanks to those lovely banner ads?

Bitchfest. At least my kitties didn't poop on the carpet this morning. Perhaps because I rose at 5am?

I can't seem to figure out how to have an entry title for these posts-- this format doesn't seem to have a field for one.

Other than that, I am:

H A P P Y .

Adventures in Cat Poop

It may not be the most culturally- or intellectually-inspired theme for a blog post, but hey, it's what was up for me today.

This morning, I arose from a restful slumber to find that one of my kitties, I think Speedo, had *christened* my very light beige carpeting with a very healthy bowel movement.

Sweet! This was the moment I had been dreading since moving into my new Bachelor Pad. I'm no Kitty Psychologist, but I think that he may have been irritated because this morning I didn't rise at 5am to feed him. My sleep schedule varies; he should know that by now! Anyway, I foolishly had not prepared for this utterly predictable domestic crisis, so I had to run to Safeway and stand there in the Cleaning Products aisle, still half asleep (7am), trying to figure out what carpet stain-removing product(s) to buy.

I bought two different products which ended up working fairly well.

It's slowly dawning on me that when you have a very light beige carpet, you have to vacuum A LOT.

You would think that I'd have known this from watching countless Anal Cleaning Freakz on "Wife Swap" and "Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy," but I guess that previously I hadn't been paying too much attention, as the renter of an apartment with old, dusty hardwood floors.

I guess I could be one of those Hippie Mommies and let the cat poop just stay there indefinitely while I go outside into the woods and meditate and play Hacky Sack... since there's no anal hubbie currently around to get mad at me and blow a gasket, who's to know?

Farewell, "Forza" II

I must direct your attention to my fellow "Forza" friar SF Mike's blog-- he has an entry with some absolutely fantastic images from the show. The one here gives a view of the Pilgrim Processional scene: flagellants with their bloody shrouds and crosses to bear, KKK Pilgrims with our pointy hats and light sabers (very "Star Wars") and our Chorus Ladies and Gents in their austere, Germanesque, BLACK-on-BLACK-on-BLACK tavern-wear.

For more, much more, click here.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend! Thanks for all your comments to my T-day entry-- I'm beginning to see that my Comment-Whoredom will not have to be totally abandoned here at Blogspot!

Farewell, "Forza"...

Last night was the final performance of "La Forza del Destino." Bittersweet. I won't miss certain aspects of this show, most particularly: suffocating in my KKK Pilgrim costume while trying not to go into a hacking Bird Flu coughing fit onstage.

But I will definitely miss the Scene-stealing Thespian Bitch Soup Cauldron scene in Act III. And the comaraderie of my fellow Pilgrims, Flagellants and Monks...

Oh yeah, I won't miss getting out of the Opera House at 11pm and waiting on McCallister and Van Ness for the friggin' bus, although there was a bus that would arrive pretty regularly at 11:10pm or so, although I won't miss some of the freakz riding the bus at that hour....

These shots are of me in my Act III Friar habit-- it's supposed to be this scary post-Apocalyptic vision, as I think I described in my *former* journal.

These photos were taken by the esteemed Mike Harvey. I also got an amazing 8x10 portrait shot by another super, John "Digital" Martin, but Mike H. was acting shockingly petulant last night, so I have to pretend that I like his photos better!

How did Maria Callas handle all the many demands of her fame???

Fag Thanksgiving!

Hope all y'all had a nice Thanksgiving. I dined with my pals Chr. & The Donald, over at their lovely home in Pacifica.

They have an absolutely bitchin' view of the Pacific Ocean and of some extremely pretty mountains, and we even saw Bambi foraging for leftovers amongst the greenery at one point in the evening!

They also have many nice possessions, as they both have HI-PROFILE careers as Retail 'Hos. In fact, I've been actively trying to convince Chr. to start a blog with a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a Hi-Profile Retail 'Ho-- don't you think that would be a fabulous read?

The Donald was gracious enough to do all the heavy cooking. He loves to cook, which worked out quite well, because it would seem that both me and Chr. are tragically cooking-impaired.

Those knives looked awfully sharp, so Madame G. was on her very best behavior...

After din-din, we played Trivial Pursuit. I haven't played this game in decades and now I know why. I hella-sucked! I could only answer questions in the PINK A&E category. Chr. fared no better, and The Donald won handily-- apparently he pays attention to the news and such.

If they'd had Trivial Pursuit, Victorian Literature and Opera Themes Edition, I KNOW I would have won... :*-(

The evening ended delightfully with me and Chr. striking our Fag Gang Poses! Don't mess with us!!!!

Bite the Big Apple (Don't Mind the Maggots)

OMIGOD, our school is marching in the Macy's Turkey Day Parade again this year, and this time I have a solo cheer and I'm going to perform right in front of Katie Couric and Matt Lauer!!!!! I don't know who they are, but Moms says its a good thing.

Laquisha and Britennie are SO ridiculous jealous-- they have been talking smack behind my back the whole trip. They are such LOSERS. Brit is hella jealous because I stoled her bf AJ away from her too. AJ is sooooo cute he looks just like that guy from The O.C., you know, the nerdy one. We are probly gonna get married after he gets out of Juvie...

NYC looks much different this year from last year. Maybe cuz I've decided to move here after graduation to pursue my dream of being a SUPERMODEL. I rote Tira Banks and aksed for her advise but she hasnt answered back yet, probly cuz it's the holidays. I wonder if she's gonna watch the parade on tv, I hope so then she'll see my cheer and spirit and she could even deside to sign me on to her model agency right away and I wouldnt have to take any finals. Cause shit, I'm gonna fail Bio for sure, I cant remember any of that shite!

Last nite was so funny, someone got some beers and we all drank and drank but then this jerkwad Bradley who plays the fucking tuba puked on my bed and we had to clean it all up for hours. I sleeped on the floor but it still smelled real bad in my room, UGH!

Welllls, I got to go because our bus leaves in 10 minutes and I have to finish my hair-- Moms let me streak it red and black and it looks hella awesome.

have a great Thanksgiving everyone and don't forget to watch for MEEEEE on your teevee!

loves and hugz, Missy G.

Madame Glinka is making the effort to appear in my "About Me" profile, and in comments...

Don't get me started on Picasa!

Why didn't I pay attention in my 7th-grade Computer Science class? ehh, I guess it wouldn't have done me much good, as we were using some ancient keypunch technology, one step up from the Flintstones computer era...

ARRGH... why isn't Madame G. showing up in my "About Me" section???

Where are you, Madame G.?????????

AMAZING, she finally showed up. Dang, you don't get Instant Gratification with this BlogSpot site...

Gator Retirement

"Magic Flute for Kids" ended as quickly as it began, with our last two shows for school groups yesterday.

Albert the Gay Gator got a small low-carb snack at the end of the second show-- just like at Marine World, when they throw fish to the whales and dolphins after they do their tricks. (Have never been to Marine World, but I have seen the commercials.)

A bit of roughage always does me good after a busy day of performing!

So I guess I'm seeing what it's like to upload an image onto this blog directly from my computer... is this any better or different than using a photo-hosting site???

Embarrassment of Riches

I'm feeling really blessed right now. Maybe it's just mania? My sleep is crap at the moment. Jennifer's Convertibles? House of Futons? Sleep Train? My insomnia is fueling my indecisiveness and vice versa. Would a Sleep Train bed speak the same language as an Ikea table lamp? Could a Pier One Imports rug translate?

We had our annual end-of-the-year Super Party last night. It was a very swellegant, glittery evening! The venue this year was the Golden Gate Yacht Club, right on the Bay. One of the supers is a member, so that was our in.

Madame Glinka does love the yachting set. She has Topsiders in every color.

For the party entertainment, traditionally a bunch of supers do a skit, based on the amusing moments of the past season, and I have been involved in that for a number of years. It's a hit-or-miss affair, a lot of work and very nerve-wracking. This year, however, in keeping with the elegant theme, two talented opera singers, Matthew TreviƱo and Brian Frutiger, were engaged to give a little mini-recital after our delicious catered din-din. Boy, did I enjoy just sitting back and listening to good singing.

In addition to some captivating arias, we heard "Stranger in Paradise" from Kismet (oh, how the Madame can relate to that tune!) and "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific.

SWOONS!

I also got official recognition from our Super Captain, Carrie Murphy, for my excellent Gator Work in Magic Flute for Kids.

And last but not least, the party was blessed by the friendly presence of both our outgoing Artistic Director, Pamela Rosenberg, and the new incoming Director, David Gockley, who is taking over the reigns here on January 1st (not a moment too soon in some people's opinion).

Their attendance was a big deal-- we supers are often made to feel like the unwanted step-children of the San Francisco Opera, so it was way cool that Mommy and Daddy showed up to our party and were nice to us!

Need a few more winks, later Gators...

Slammed!

This weekend is insane: performances of "Forza" and "Flute for Kids", seeing "Fidelio" last night (last performance of run), end-of-season Super Party tonight, plus all my other important extra-curricular activities.

No time to figure out this blog yet or make the rounds to say hi to all y'all... hopefully next week will be less crazed.

I have some neat photos to share and I need to figure out how to do that ASAP!

I've been reading some journals over at AOL-J this morning, and it's sad to see that there's bickering and nasty emails over folks' decisions on whether to stay or go.

My opinion is:

My blog, my blog-site choice!

Ikea, Insomnia, Other Issues...

So I'm in my new digs and I am loving this new apartment, but I still feel like I'm camping out and I'm not sleeping well yet. Most of my *stuffe* is on the floor in plastic bags; I haven't had much time to start putting things away. I've hooked up the trusty old TV/VCR and computer, that's basically it other than heating up a lot of frozen entrees in my gorgeous new kitchen.

(OMIGOD, look at all the pretty colors here!!!)

Interesting coincidence: new digs for my blog too, and still camping out here until I figure out the tech part.

My new apartment has windows facing North, East and South. Those of you who live in big houses may not find this too special, but my old place just had two windows, both facing West... okay, they looked out over the Pacific Ocean, but still, I really love all the light in my new place, especially all the morning light that floods in.

Yesterday was my second Fag Field Trip to Ikea, this one in fancy-schmancy Palo Alto with my Fag Field Trip Friend, Chr.

Exhausting but fun.

Looking for a sofa-bed thingie, but I don't like their selection much, too cheap and institutional looking. I did buy a cute greenish lamp and a hanging Christmas light sculpture that will undoubtedly double as an entertaining cat-scratching post toy...

It's very cool to see old AOL pals with new Blogspot accounts commenting, as well as other pals who never bothered with AO-Hell in the first place.

I could rant here about the AOL Journal banner ads, but I don't want to sully this new space with bad energy about things I can't control.

Guess that's all for now. Let's see how all these fonts look...

arrrgh, I hate lerning new crap.

I want to change my template, I want to change my user name... I don't have the patience right now to figure this all out!

Hi Everyone!

Here I am on Blogspot. Yay!!! Change is good. I think.

Will look for all of my friends here as soon as I figure out what the fuck I'm doing technically.

Oops, am I allowed to say "Fuck" on Blogspot?????
