Gilbert & George, "Happy" 1980
Discombobulated...
Kinda missing my old journal, damnit... those fucking banner ads... arggh, I can't go there! Fuck you, BofA!!! Um, I mean, I'm not very happy with you currently, BofA!
It's disconcerting to me that many of my old AOL-J pals don't seem to want to wade into the waters of Blogspot. I guess I've got to try and cultivate some new Blogspot friendships. I feel like I've just arrived in Junior High and my face is full of zits and I'm not Mr. Popular anymore. I am missing some of my old AOL-J pals, frankly!
I've got to make more of an effort to visit all you other AOL-J refugees who have landed here... bleh, things are just-- different. It's an adjustment in my new home and an adjustment here. It's just confusing-- where are people-- the UK? a new Blogspot site? Old AOL-J?-- which loads like crap now on my dial-up, thanks to those lovely banner ads?
Bitchfest. At least my kitties didn't poop on the carpet this morning. Perhaps because I rose at 5am?
I can't seem to figure out how to have an entry title for these posts-- this format doesn't seem to have a field for one.
Other than that, I am:
H A P P Y .

I'm here!
i try to visit here when i remember OH YEAH, there are journals that have MOVED!!! R-I-G-H-T-!-!

{{{{Albie}}}} Oh, sweetie, I'm still around! I may have "moved" to the UK, but I'd follow you & your journal anywhere!!! I totally feel the same way as you in regards to the J-Land friends. Everyone is now spread out all over the place & it's all very unsettling. I can't find more than 1/3 of the journals I used to read...don't know where they all are. And those who left AOL journals all together don't visit me either. I guess they don't want to get a dang passport or something, seeing where my journal is. It's sad...plain & simple.

The AOL diaspora is quite sad-making to watch. But AlbGlinka, you CAN have two sites at one time, and maybe you should go back to the AOL site and redesign it to be a revolutionary parody of the banner ads while still making it a community hangout. And you can make your way in the wider internet world at the same time. You've played more than one part in an opera so you're used to multiple identities.
Under Settings, Formatting tab, select "yes" for the "Show Title Field" down near the bottom. Save your changes. Exit Blogger, clear your browser cache and you should see the title box the next time you open the "create an entry" editor. Insert your title and you are good to go.
I think most people are around, they just haven't figured out how to leave comments.
Lucky for you, I'm always here.
Albert a new place always takes a bit of getting used to. My kitty wakes me around 5:30 each morning. I am not a fit caretaker at that hour. I need my beauty sleep. grrrr
I'm like you, I am still trying to find folks and keep up...."upset" with B of A too.....I hate when they won't give me $ from the ATM....balance, schmalance!
I am glad I found you.
Pictures of the kitties, please1
We are slowly finding each other. Things are looking good over here!
Hello Albert....I wanted to comment in Spencer's Poetry so I had to join..now I have two journals going..here & AOL..but still protesting over there. Your blog looks great you seem to know your way around here. I just missed everybody too...Sandi
I MISS YOU TOO ALBERT!!!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
My computer was down over the holiday, I'm just trying to get around and caught up now. It is a nightmare now that everyone is all over the place. I'd like to move over here...but I can't abandon two years of writing and comments. I'm completely torn!
BTW...don't faint, but your book is DONE!! Now, I just need to get to the PO.
:)
LOVE YOU!!!!!
I just came from your most recent entry over in your old apartment. Har har. I never learned how to take 'screen shots'. I'm not enjoying ONE BIT how there's now an ad up there with a motor scooter on it, and the damn scooter hops OUT OF THE AD and down into whichever journal I'm reading!!! STOOOOOPID!!!! I feel bad for those folks on dial-up, they are going through hell with all the added animation. Fark!!! And Aunt Nub, and others - if you need help finding friends who've moved their blogs, I can help. E-mail me. Judith Heartsong has a huge list and I know one other place where they are being listed. Don't dismay!!! We will survive this. Love, Phinney
My biggest adjustment is finding a new routine. Alerts helped that, but they're gone for now. We will find our way. I just keep reminding myself that when I started at AOL-J I didn't know shift from ctrl, and I was alone. Here I'm learning new things all over again, and I am most certainly not on my own. Soon it will become second nature. Again.
I think people on both sides are having problems with people reading their journals...

Looks like you figured out the post title thing. Give a hollah if you have questions. Between all the blind, we might be able to figure some things out.
If you want your snooty J-Land friends to visit here...just post a new entry in your AOL journal with the blogspot entry link. They'll get alerts. And all they'll have to do is click a fricken link. Lazy-ass-bastards. I mean, loyal friends of Glinka. :D
just don't bring me fruitcake. judi
