Glinka4Sale

I have been taking a breather from the blog and from the Internets in general, attempting to work on my Money/Creativity issues.

Bottom line is: I can't continue to "give away my creativity for free" anymore.

:-/

Details to come.

You're presuming somebody wants to buy what you're creatively selling, which is a tricky business. Most great artists have had a hard time figuring it out, actually.

Saw "Rent" tonight, the movie, and looked desperately for you in the club scene but couldn't spot you. The movie was a sincere disaster, and for it to have any chance of working, the thing needed to be shot in New York. That "La Boheme" Sixth and Mission set in San Fran was just too wrong for words.

Speaking of which, my only movie extra role was in that recent Reese Witherspoon "Just Like Heaven" vehicle, and I actually spotted my distinctive bald head walking merrily along on Valencia Street in closeup. It was too fun, and though the movie was bad, at least it wasn't "Rent."

good for you Albert. I've been trying to make a living with my creative for quite a long time. It's finally starting to pay off. Don't give up too fast.... it takes time, but it's worth it. Good luck my friend :)

Try using Google Ads to help defray the "expense" of the time you put in here. And cease subscribing to the notion that your creativity is a finite amount. It isn't; in my experience, the more you do the more you make.

Go for it, kiddo. There's a whole world out there.

Dear Albert,
I'm the owner of the shop where you were 'given' the pink glittered robe. I was a bit disheartened to read that you feel the shop is "over priced" when I actually gave that item to you. I regularly give items away, negotiate whenever possible - drop prices monthly have regular sales, etc. Dealers shop at my store so they can go to higher end shops and resell those items. I'm sorry, it hurt my feelings that after I gave you something pretty cool you would post something negative about my shop for the world to see.
It is not easy to be in business in this economy or a city as expensive as S.F. Any negative p.r. can affect my livlihood which trickles down to the well being of my child. I work 6 days a week and can barely pay my bills when in reality, I actually earn a lot. It just all goes to overhead which is why I can't just give things a way to everyone all the time which is what I wish I could do.
I enjoyed giving you that robe, it seemed right for you. It doesn't seem right what you did in return.

I know its been a long time,I had hoped you would pop in and I could discuss this with you directly.

I do the best I can.

Sandra
