Newz

Insomnia, up at 4am and so was one of my kitties, racing thru my bachelor pad and eventually crashing into my ironing board which then crashed into my oven door. Sorry for the racket. downstairs and upstairs neighbors!

Main reason for the insomnia: a potential position shift (a promotion of sorts) in my job: different designer/ floor/ schedule/ money/ responsibilities.

I feel flattered that I've been asked-- it's a more high-profile fashiony spot. It just means... having to "swallow the Retail Kool-Ade" more than I've been willing to do thus far. I definitely can't go into more details than that.

My fate's now intertwined with someone who's leaving the position at some point in the near future...

Wondering if it's God/Goddess/Universe/Tao/Spirit's will for me?

sorry about the insomniazzz...so disruptive when ur tryin' to LIVE! been fighting the same battle, but lately winning, yay!

i hear you on swallowing the 'retail kool-aid' - i was never willing to do so , which is why my retail career flopped. again, YAY! also my 'corporate office worker kool-aid' and 'healthcare office dental assistant kool-aid' never went down well, either. i am so frustrated as to what the HELL i'm supposed to be doing!!!? i only feel that failure is what i've done, and the only thing i'm consistent at. :(

good luck to you...hope you find your fate and what is meant for you, work-wise. 'thinking of you' xo phinney

Phinney: That's alot of Kool-Ade. Maybe it's time to switch to frappuccinos or something. :-)

Um, did anyone ever give you major kudos for being a great mom, friend and caregiver for other little ones? Don't sell yourself short: those are worth gold.

Lol Albert ... good reason to be up all night. A little Kool- Aid never really hurt anyone. Well except for (Oh never mind)

My thoughts are ... so it's not your dream job, show up every day, collect a paycheck every week and still have plenty of time to be creative when you are not on the clock. It doesn't have to last forever.

Happy Tuesday to ya and (((((Hugs Phinney)))))

Before you take another sip, remember what drinking Jim Jones' brew resulted for those who supped. If this really isn't your cuppa, turn down the promotion and start hunting for something new to do. Life is too f___king short to hate a third of your day...

Vodka goes great with kool-aid! Drink up!

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."

Yeah, I've drank too much coffee already this morning. I need to tone down the cheery in my Cheerios. ;-)

Good luck ALbie!

Thanks friends!

My sis'-- who knows my workplace firsthand, gave some feedback too:

"keep in mind, it is REAL cutthroat. When more money is at stake, the sharks circle."

YIKES. I think I WILL need to spike my Kool-Aid.

Any news yet? And maybe you'd post a pic of your kitties.

Obviously you do a great job where you are and THEY think you're capable. I understand not wanting to take on more responsibility and stress but I'm kinda with Coy-- take it, see if it's as bad as you thought, sock away more money for art supplies, theater tickets or investing and see how it goes. You can always quit, and when you look for a new job you will havethat higher level on your resume. ???
